Guilt Free


Ništa lepše od trocifrene, guilt free kupovine kod Kineza. Šarom mermera opsednuta sam već neko vreme, a ovaj šoping bio je zaista marbleous :) U jednačinu ubacite i moje redovne posete gvožđari, i eto DIY Céline ogrlice! Volim kada neki odevni predmet otkrijem ponovo. Bila sam ubeđena da sam karike ostavila u srednjoj školi, ali, eto, ispostavilo se da ovako u neparu, pa još u kombinaciji sa marble printom, nose potpuno drugo značenje....

Nothing puts a smile on my face as fast as a dirt cheap, guilt free shopping at a Chinese store. I've been obsessing over marble print for a while, and this shopping spree has been nothing short of marbleous :) If you bring my (in)famous reputation in a local hardware store into the equation, you can surely see this DIY Céline necklace coming! I love when I discover some piece again, see it from another angle. I could have sworn that I've left hoop earrings in the high school, but they've turned to be something entirely different if worn single, especially with this marble(ous) detail...

Pruitt Igoe


Prva reakcija, naravno - zbunjenost. Ko još zna za Pruitt-Igoe van sveta arhitekture ili, eventualno, sociologije? Iako se na prvi pogled čini da je argument zato što dobro zvuči ili nije ni bitno kako se zove ako ovako dobro izgleda (ne)dovoljan, ipak ja tu vidim i nešto više. Rušenje naselja Pruitt-Igoe možda označava kraj Moderne u arhitekturi, ali kolekcija Harim Jung, mlade korejske dizajnerke sa svežom diplomom Parsonsa, ne može biti modernija, u najboljem, ovde i sada, smislu te reči! Istorija, pisana na nov način. I zajednička vizija, naravno. Talentovani poljski fotograf Dominik Tarabanski i set dizajnerka Zu-Sb savršeno su dobro razumeli šta je Harim Jung htela da kaže, i to pretočili u savršenstvo zvano - Pruitt Igoe. Zaista, nebitno je kako se zove ako ovako dobro izgleda :)

My first reaction was, naturally - confusion. I was pretty certain no one outside the world of architecture/urban planning/sociology knew about Pruitt-Igoe. Even though mere because it sounds catchy or it doesn't matter what it's called when it looks this good argument would be (in)sufficient, I'm sure there is more to it. The demolition of Pruitt-Igoe might be marking the end of Modern architecture, but I can assure you that Harim Jung's collection is being modern at its best, being here and now! History, but written in a new way. And sharing common vision, as well. Harim Jung might be a young Korean designer with the fresh Parsons diploma, but it took talented Polish photographer Dominik Tarabanski and set designer Zu-Sb for this perfection to be complete. And, in the end - it doesn't really matter what you call it if it looks this good :)

Blast From The Past

Onaj momenat kada naiđete na zaboravljeni folder i shvatite da su se vaše modne opsesije potpuno izmenile u proteklih godinu dana. Put napred, evolucija, pre nego neki zaokret za 180 stepeni. Ipak, lepo podsećanje na neke možda zaboravljene komade. Kao, na primer, ovu DIY leptir mašnu. Gender bender je (od)uvek na listi mojih modnih igara!

That moment when you stumble upon a long forgotten folder and realize how much have your fashion obsessions changed in a year's time. A journey ahead, an evolution, rather than some 180 degrees shift. Nevertheless, a good reminder of some (possibly neglected) pieces. Such as this DIY chain bow tie. Gender bender has always been the new black on my inspo list!

p.s. Ne znam da li ste čuli, ali Google ukida svoj Google Reader tako da više nećemo moći da pratimo omiljene blogove preko GFC-a. Hvala Jani što mi je otkrila spasonosni Feedly - osim što će rado prihvatiti sve blogove koje ste pratili preko Readera, ovaj put ćete ih gledati preko interfejsa koji je zaista 3L - lep, lak i logičan! Naravno, tu su i stari dobri Bloglovin' i Facebook :)

p.s. I don't know whether you've heard the big news already, but Google is shutting down Google Reader, so you won't be able to follow your favorite blogs through GFC. Thanks Jana, for introducing us to Feedly, that will finally make browsing+reading a pleasant experience, as well as it will smoothly import all your Google Reader blogs. And for those who want to minimize the fuss, there are always good old Bloglovin' and Facebook :)

Forgotten



Negde između novogodišnjih moram i hoću, i rođendanskih želim, našla sam ovaj zaboravljeni berlinski folder. Iako mi za Berlin ne treba povod, ovaj put bio je to Berlin festival, dvodnevni indie raj na starom aerodromu Tempelhof. U timu (iz snova) Dženana, Peđa et moi, kao iskusna berlinerka, u ulozi vodiča. Sa Berlinom sam vas već više puta upoznavala, pa ćemo preskočiti uobičajene protokolarije i preći na stvar, pardon, muziku. Iamamiwhoami me je ostavila bez daha, a i bez pravih reči, pa je možda najbolje da je sami malo istražite. Sve što volim u vezi sa Švedskom, spakovano u jednu neizgovorivu reč, i sat ipo potpune ekstaze. Osim što zaista (ali, zaista) zvuči kao na snimku, Grimes osvaja nagradu za najveću facu – umesto da se sama skine, ona je stavila 5 zgodnih frajera na scenu, koje je, iz pesme u pesmu, sve više razgolićavala. Nešto kao Rihanna in reverse. Moralni pobednik ipak Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur, pirgavi mladić iz Engleske koji ima 40 kg zajedno sa miksetom, jer je napravio ŽU-RKE-TI-NU, i imao belkinje, koje su mešale oblinama bolje od bilo kakve crnkinje. Pametno, seksi, ma...pametno jeste seksi. I da, Killersi k’o Killersi, svaka im je stadionska. Moram priznati da sam koji put i zevnula. Mnoge ću ovde i preskočiti, a bili su fenomenalni – Friendly Fires, When Saints Go Machine (utvrđujem gradivo:), Friends, Whomadewho, Sigur Ros, We Have Band...

Obzirom da rođendan slavim koji dan posle Nove godine, za obe zgode poželim isto a onda ubeđujem sebe kako tako postoji duplo veća mogućnost da se snovi ostvare :) Elem, jasno vam je da sam ovaj put poželela što više Berlina, što od srca želim i vama! Nadam se da vas je ovo miholjsko berlinsko sunce ogrejalo koliko i mene u zvanično najdepresivnijem danu u godini (majkemi, bilo na radiju :)

Somewhere in between New Year’s resolutions and Bday wishes, I stumbled upon this long forgotten Berlin folder. Although I would gladly visit Berlin without any, this time the reason was Berlin festival, a two-day indie paradise located on Tempelhof airport. As an experienced wannabe Berliner, I was a guide to Dženana and Peđa. You had a chance to meet Berlin coupleof times before on this blog, so I’ll skip the formal introduction and get straight to the point - music.  Iamamiwhoami left me breathless and speechless, so instead of trying to find the right words to describe this everything-I-love-about-Sweden hour and a half ecstasy, I’ll ask you to do your own homework on her. Except for really (and by really I mean really) having the voice we hear on the records, Grimes gets the coolest chick around award. Instead of showing us her own body, she took five hot guys, put them on the stage and stripped them from song to song – something like Rihanna in reverse. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur is definitely a moral winner – this 40 kilos-together-with-the-mixer nerd from England made THE P-A-R-T-Y! Smart, sexy...hell, smart IS sexy! Oh, and The Killers...well, every song was stadium-worthy, seems like they’ve done their U2 homework well. I must admit I even yawned a few times. And those I’ve forgetten, but who were fantastic, as well - Friendly Fires, When Saints Go Machine, Friends, Whomadewho, Sigur Ros, We Have Band...

As my Bday is only couple of days away from New Year’s Eve, I wish the same things two times, hoping that way  I’m doubling the chances of my dreams coming true :) Of course, this time I wished for as much Berlin as possible, something I wish to all of you, too! I hope that this indian (Berlin) summer has warmed your hearts as much as mine in the officially most depressive day of the year (I swear, I’ve heard it on the radio :)
