Pure // Gold

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I'll start with an Apology. With a capital A. Because I've been absent for so long. Because my summery outfit is from couple of weeks ago. I'm (and still should be) working on my master thesis so I voluntarily quarantined myself. Shhhh...let's pretend writing this post was kind of literary warm-up for master session tonight :) Excuses aside, this might be the perfect moment to introduce you to some of the key pieces I wore all summer long. White was the new black and I couldn't resist. Of course, white sandals look nice only once - the first time you wear them. Delicate see-through wristband of my beloved (S)watch turned yellow. As if that was not enough character for a single watch, I got a serious scratch, so I'll always know where nine hour mark is. I try to look at these as memories. Maybe not the ones of summer holidays, but surely ones of the summer.

One Off

Dobra perspektiva zahteva (raz)daljinu. Igra tekstura i sudar oblika, umesto boja.

I tu dolazi (onako superherojski, to the rescue, a kako drugačije?

True perspective requires a distance. When Ika asked me to pick a necklace from here, I realized how much my style (style, as something out of time not necessarily being the best choice of words here, I'd better use current obsessions) has changed in last couple of years. Me from couple of seasons ago would easily put this statement necklace on top of some floral print shirt, only to end up this fashion sentence with a Laurent-esque hat. I'll take the challenge. I know, I'm still quite far from the fashion catharsis I am aspiring for, but I'm definitely enjoying the journey there. Play of textures and tectonics of shape, instead of colors. Monochromatic is not monotonous.

That is how I got here, actually. Neoprene, being here and now, is superhero retro-futurism at its best. I'll skip the introduction - it was Radoslava who wore this DIY Balenciaga neoprene sweater last time, remember this video? Sometimes, a simple intervention can totally change the archetypal nature of an object and give it a paradoxical quality.  Is there anything better than a simple, asymmetrical cut that fast forwarded this midi pleated skirt from grandma's closet to superedgy? Mini and maxi at the same time, but never dull again. Paradox no.2, flatforms - flat, but high. Of course, if you put so many bold pieces together, you're at risk of being mistaken for someone headed for a local Star Trek geek convention. This is where this necklace from the past comes in (to the rescue, of course, is there any other way? :) One off, to break the superhero costume-y feel, has saved the day.

Crescent

Dok smo Ivana i ja uživale u bojama sumraka, društvo unutra nije gubilo vreme - naručile smo samo kafu, a dobile i thai piletinu pride. Novo mesto, stari prijatelji, jedno sjajno veče...

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

One word - the view. Over a city, over a park, a river and the sky. We are in love with Boža's new apartment, besides a sixteenth floor vertigo. Or, because of it. An elevator spacious enough, where neither me nor my bicycle have to cramp and bend. While Ivana et moi were enjoying the rich sunset colors on the roof terrace, our friends inside were surely not wasting time. We opted for a coffee only, but got fabulous a thai chicken bonus. New place, old friends, and one evening to remember...

Prodigy Red zaista me je lepo iznenadio.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Prodigy Red package was truly a nice surprise. I mean, besides this amazing dress. It's a digital age, after all, the last thing I expected was a little analog letter from Prodigy Red's own Aerefa. Anyway, I believe that the most surprising thing about Prodigy Red is that nothing there costs more than 15£!

Cut Me Open

Prijatelji blogeri stalno me kritikuju što još nisam napravila Facebook stranicu.

Razmišljam da uradim i jedan beli tattoo trougao, šta kažete?

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

My blogger friends always criticize me for not having a Facebook page yet. Lazy, busy or something else, the only important thing is that I have finally made it, so now you can follow hiPop regularly on Facebook. To celebrate this, I have a little giveaway, but more about that a bit later...

A play of contrasts, once again. Verticals and horizontals versus diagonals. Floating volumes fixed with chunky flatforms. I think this fabulous geometric OASAP shirt is having great time with DIY asymmetric pleated skirt, what do you say?

Add a bit of DIY rings, both made of metal and acrylic,  and you can play with geometry endlessly! I was contemplating on doing a little white triangle tattoo, what do you think?

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Hope you like metal rings from the photo above, as they will be finding a new home through a giveaway open until August 27th 9p.m.! All you have to do is to follow hiPop via Google Friend connect, Bloglovin' and like a Facebook page. And, of course, to leave an e-mail :)
