Carpe Diem

Vozi ga i (gizdava) policija.

Or, even better - a weekend.

Rim wasn't really so high on my to visit list of cities, but now I'm so glad that my mum talked me into this family adventure. All tied up in antique, renaissance and baroque threads, you should visit Rome primary for its abundant history. It's not that I didn't like warm and welcoming people of Rome, it's just that I was so obsessed with trying to give those art and architecture history classes a true context. Head up with my chin on the floor was my fav accessory those days.

You can probably tell by the (overwhelming) quantity of photos that camera was a must, too. Well, (over)abundance is ok when talking of Rome - it's a wonderful melange of too much of everything...a party for all senses! When in Rome, do (and dress) as Romans do. This might be a well-known proverb, but I didn't find Rome too inspiring, at least when it comes to female fashion. On the other hand, middle-aged men have left greatest fashion impression. Always sartorial, yet casual enough, with all those perfectly tailored jackets, beautiful shirts and even better details! You'll probably notice that I miss the photo evidence for this claim. Although it was quite easy to approach younger people on the street and ask them to pose for my blog in Berlin, it was kinda awkward in Rome, as they were not so young :) it doesn't matter anyway, you'll see where I'm getting if you just take a look at those bejeweled everyday uniforms their policemen wear.

I know, I never took Smart more seriously than an unloved bastard child of Mercedes and Swatch, but narrow and crowded Roman streets made me change my mind. Even Police uses it. Rome bought me with details. With its orange trees, with its streets soiled in history, bookstores as pedestrian passages (yes, you actually have to walk through it to  make it to the other side of the street) and absolutely perfect coffee. You can drink probably the best espresso in Rome in Tazza D'Oro, near Pantheon.

Of course, I couldn't resist a tourist temptation to throw a coin in Di Trevi fountain. To many Roman (hi)stories are still left to be told, after all.

Baroque, both on vintage Versace, and  that ceiling. I don't count that I visited a city properly if I don't check out the local flea market. I had to wake up at 06.40am, but it was worth it. I practice my thirfting skills (almost) every saturday morning on Nylon flea market in Novi Sad so this visit was really not much of a news. The downside is that you can't buy a vintage Armani for less than a euro (as you can on Nylon), as sellers know what they have to offer. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of designer clothes (new, but from couple of seasons ago) offered at reasonable prices. With my 'huge' 30 euro budget I was able to buy a PVC Max Mara top and Marina Rinaldi (curvy line of Max Mara) leather bag, that you can see below. Unfortunately, I had to pass on the Gaultier jeans and fringe 2-piece...hope it will wait for me :)

Myth

'Calm down a bit, warm weather is not going anywhere, at least for the upcoming 6-8 months'...This is a tweet that really made me laugh the other day. After a long and snowy winter, spring (or, should I better say - summer!) came quite unexpectedly and lured so many people to spend their weekend outdoors. The Petrovaradin fortress was crowded with Sunday reunion families, friends picnicking around...but it was funniest to watch all those couples who came searching for some intimacy and nature, but, being surrounded by many other couples with similar intentions, could have found none :)

Of course, we couldn't say no to this perfect opportunity to snap some pics outside. You already know that Milan et moi have this blogger coffee habit, but this time we took Jovana with us, as well. Here are the records of one (extra)ordinary Sunday, spent with friends...Sunday lunch smells + old lady passing by and enjoying being involved as guest creative director for Milan's photoshoot, included :)

I've been quite obsessed with fluffy things lately - I couldn't wait for this Oasap mint sweater to arrive. The rest comes from the thrift whore folder - vintage Max Mara cashmere jacket I bought on Limundo (Serbian eBay) for 10 euros, while pleated skirt, scarf, 80s Polaroid shades and vintage Cartier bag are my finds from Nylon flea market.
