Pickpocket mixtape

I don't really know how it started. Whether I heard music to the pictures, or it was really the other way round.

It's the end of the year, a perfect time for all kinds of recaps. These are the songs that had some meaning for me in the past year, though not so randomly picked. They remind me of Slavica and the perfect photo posts we all enjoy so much on her Pickpocket blog. That's exactly why I said I don't remember what came first - sound or vision - and it's not important, after all. That's why I invited Slavica to paint my music choices, with her magical photos.

Hope you'll enjoy both pictures and sounds.

Analogno decembarsko prolece // Analog December spring

A onda kad postignete savršen položaj ruke, obavezno pokvarite nešto drugo. I onda ispočetka. Rezultat - stotinak bezmalo istih fotografija, jednakih u svojoj nesavršenosti.

Osim toga, cross processing mnogo bolje izgleda kada stvarno cross processuirate film, umesto korišćenja Photoshop filtera.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I don't know about you, but I've realized I prefer analog over digital photography. Although Yashica film has only a dozen shots, I usually manage to squeeze in at least two outfits and much more joy than on couple of dozens of digital photos. Being photographed with Yashica resembles a lot of taking an X-ray image by your doctor -it takes a lot of adjusting, trying to find the right position, and then there is the stop breathing moment. After that comes the sweet anxiety of waiting for a film to develop.

Whenever I'm being photographed with a digital camera I have this innate urge to review images right away and try to correct everything I can on the spot. Which is really not bad, except when you slip into obsessive repeating of a single pose, trying to perfect it. But there will always be something wrong with it - if you've made your arms look perfect, your legs would look blah. The result - couple of dozens of photos, all looking  the same, all equally imperfect.

Except that, cross processing does look better if you actually cross process the film, instead of using a Photoshop filter.

My favorite pastime during cold winter days is remembering of warm and sunny ones. These photos were taken last October, during the last breath of Indian summer.

This is the same place at the same time(no, the Sun has not set in the meantime), but seen from a cross processed perspective. You might have already seen the rest of cross processed photos from that film here. What do you think, I really love the darker background + aristocratic(or deathly, it's relative:) pale complexion...?

Karl goes pink!

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Let's get this straight - in my book, Karl Lagerfeld could say Yeti, and I would willfully obey. With his German purism he was a perfect successor to Coco's femininity of strict lines, a Chanel trademark. It's not that I'm tired of his black/white/gray/nude color palette, but I was really glad to learn that Karl's Pre Fall 2012 Chanel collection was inspired by India, so vivid and colorful!

Fuchsia, gold, chains and pearls used in unexpected ways...hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

p.s. Although for me 2.55 is much more than a reply to 'What's the time?' question, the bags from Paris-Bombay collection are a serious competition.

Audrey 2.0

Zimu najbolje podnosim u proleće, dok gledam AW kolekcije. Kada vidim svo ono lepo pletivo, krzno i čizme, poželim pad temeperature, ali mi entuzijazam opadne sa prvim upornim jesenjim kišama i sivim danima.

I Tsumori Chisato i ja izgleda volimo film How to Steal a Million, posebno Odrin Givenchy šeširić i naočare, koji tako dobro idu uz njen pink kabriolet.

Ako ne greju spolja, makar mogu iznutra.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Despite being a Christmas kid, I really don't like cold. I love winter best in spring, while browsing through AW collections. When I see all that beautiful knit, fur and booties I even wish for a temperature drop, but all my enthusiasm melts with first gray days and autumn rains.

Those days are here, and when there's no wool coat that can bring back a smile to my face, I rather look for  playful spring details. It seems that Tsumori Chisato et moi have the same taste in movies - as she used one of my favorite movies, How to Steal a Million, as an inspiration for her AW 2011 collection. Audrey looks so good with this Givenchy white ensemble, especially while she drives her pink convertible.

They might not help keep you warm from the outside, but sure will from the inside.

Creepy Sunday
