Haute Run

Patike.

Sneakers. On a couture catwalk. Two things you wouldn't likely put in one sentence. They've crawled into (or should I say - run into :) the ready-to-wear world couple of seasons ago,  only to become the ubiquitous part of sporty luxe street chic. The recipe is quite simple - put on something überdressy and then finish that fashion sentence unexpectedly - with sneakers. I love my New Balances because I don't (have to) hate them when I'm running late. The Oscars might be approaching, but I can only yawn when I see the usual haute couture staples - the amount of lace and sequins alone could easily cause diabetes if watched for too long. Rad Hourani's unisex collection has surely made a tectonic change in the haute couture world, but you can't (and don't have to) have revolution everyday. Sometimes, it just takes some little gesture, quirky detail or the right sense of (fashion) humor to announce that the winds are going to change. A bit of applause, please, for Mr. Lagerfeld and Mr. Simons, for proving (once again) that working for Chanel or Dior doesn't mean - being stuffy.
