Nebo u grudima // Sky is in the heart

Ili na grudima. Kralj printova Dries Van Noten bio je član žirija na foto-konkursu, a James Reeve jedan od finalista. Izložba Lightscapes paralelno prikazuje Jamesove fotografije i njihovo mesto Driesovoj SS 2012 kolekciji.

Zaboravite galaxy print koji su blogeri do iznemoglosti (zlo)upotrebljavali, noćno nebo Londona, Bejruta, Marseja i Las Vegasa je nova crna.

Or on it. Dries Van Noten was a president of Hyères photo contest jury, and James Reeve was one of the finalists. Collaboration between a young photographer and the King of Prints was inevitable, and is being celebrated through Lightscapes, which exibits both original photographs and Dries Van Noten's SS 2012 collection.

Forget galaxy print, so gladly (ab)used by blogger in last couple of seasons, the night sky over London, Beirut, Marseilles and Las Vegas paints the new black.

PETA za petama // Red or...

Da ne živimo u Srbiji, sigurno bi mi bila.

Ne znam, nemam ambiciju da pokrećem još jedno pitanje na koje nema, niti pravog, niti jedinstvenog odgovora. Polijte me crvenom farbom, ali mi je licemerno da ignorišem maminu lisicu (ili njene ostatke) u ormaru, kad već nosim isključivo kožnu obuću i povremeno jedem meso. Jeste da mi je na jelovniku samo piletina, ali sam sigurna da te jadne piliće nisu tretirali ništa bolje od životinja uzgajanih zbog krzna.

Istina, ne koriste se u modne svrhe samo životinje iz kontrolisanog uzgoja. Sa druge strane, sigurna sam da ni Kinezi ne obraćaju previše pažnje koliko štete životnoj sredini nanose hemikalije koje koriste u proizvodnji veštačkog krzna.

Dosta pro et contra-isanja, obećala sam sebi, a i vama, da neću ulaziti u ovo. Pripremite crvenu farbu.

I don't really have an ambition of asking yet another question there is not, or at least there is not only one, answer. Splash me with red paint, but I would be a hypocrite to ignore fur from my mother's closet and keep on going with my only-leather-shoes policy. And although I don't eat too much meat, that being poultry exclusively, I'm sure those chickens were not treated with more care than fur-bred animals.

Yes, you're right, this world is unfortunately not a perfect place where they use only animals from controlled sources. Speaking of an imperfect world, I'm sure biggest producers of faux fur, Chinese, do not pay much attention to the environmental effect toxic chemicals used in production process have.

See, this is exactly what I wanted to avoid...pro et contra ad infinitum. Ad nauseum.

Po meni je ove sezone najlepše krzno imao Gucci (ono petrolej!), ali ipak ga je najbolje nosio Dries. // Gucci's teal fur might get the award for the most beautiful this season, but Dries definitely wore it best.

Daleko od toga da se predstavljam kao fashion blogger, valjda su to iz onog 'architect turned lighting designer turned fashion blogger and DIY enthusiast who never learned to sew properly' u tekstu zaključili...No, svi znamo da u Srbiji to možete popuniti jedino u polju hobi, nikako zanimanje.

Malo putovanje kroz vreme // A little time travel

U 2008. ili 1993., nisam sigurna. Ove prve nisam imala blog, a ove druge, ni internet.

Volim Internet (malim ili velikim slovom - lingvisti se spore), jer je omogućio da ironični omaž poznatim modnim brendovima i njihovim logoima većim od života postane igra blogera širom sveta, ma gde se nalazili.Od sada već kultnih komada švedskog brenda 5PREVIEW, koji je i započeo je ovu igru, preko DIY blogerske reakcije, do svog zakasnelog odgovora, takođe inspirisanog ikonom, doduše ne modnom.

To 2008 or 1993, that's the only thing I'm not sure about. In 2008 I had no blog, and in 1993 I had no Internet.

I really love Internet, for million reasons, one of them surely being its power to make one ironic homage to fashion icons and their bigger-than-life logos a worldwide popular game for bloggers. From Swedish gods 5PREVIEW (who started it all!), over a DIY reaction from bloggers, to my interpretation. It might be 3 years too late, but it is also inspired by a local icon. Not a fashion one, though.

If you expose yourself to more than 10 seconds of work of this national heroine, you'll see that there was really no other way.
